Laurie McQueen

My practice is centered on transactional and corporate matters, with an emphasis on the technology sector. I developed my expertise with two preeminent national law firms as well as in-house roles with innovative startups and, more recently, with a rapidly expanding Montreal law firm. Before embarking on my legal career, I worked in the banking industry across Canada, the United States and France, acquiring substantial corporate experience. Joining Blue HF is an opportunity to continue to build on my expertise with a team of seasoned and highly qualified professionals, with a client-centric approach that I appreciate.

Clients appreciate my responsiveness and the care I bring to address their concerns proactively and to finding business-oriented solutions. I work with my clients through all phases of their development – assisting with company formation, capital structuring, venture capital investments, corporate governance and shareholder matters, as well as acquisitions and divestitures. Additionally, i provide counsel on joint ventures and strategic partnerships both domestically and internationally, collaborative R&D arrangements, licensing agreement, intellectual property protection, and employment-related issues. My expertise has garnered industry recognition, including acknowledgement by Best Lawyers in Canada for Mergers and Acquisitions.

Beyond my professional commitments, I serve as the President of the Board of Directors for Microcredit Montreal, where i have volunteered for over 12 years, and i am actively involved with Réseau Capital. In my leisure time, i enjoy cooking and enjoying food with family and friends, hiking with our dogs and visiting my extended family in the Pays Basque, France.
