Biography

Lauri Reesor is a partner in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Lauri’s success in building and maintaining long-standing client relationships is a result of her commitment to having an in-depth understanding of her clients’ business and the sector in which they operate, and providing practical, solution-focused legal advice to meet her clients’ business needs while mitigating risk. Her main areas of focus include human rights litigation, pay equity, labour arbitration and education law with a concentration on special education.

Lauri is repeatedly recognized as a leading human rights lawyer in Canada. She has appeared before provincial and federal human rights tribunals and her practice has taken her to all levels of court including the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Lauri is one of the few management-side lawyers in Ontario with extensive pay equity expertise, regularly advising employers on compliance issues. She represents employers involved in Pay Equity Commission investigations and advocates for employers before the Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal.

Lauri is frequently called upon to speak at conferences and conduct training on issues relating to human rights, special-education law, pay equity and other labour and employment issues. Outside of her legal practice, you will find Lauri hiking the Niagara Escarpment, enjoying a campfire on a piece of Canadian Shield or cheering on the local lacrosse field.
