Lauren Ditty is a commercial litigation attorney at Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP in Austin, Texas. She represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in a broad range of business and commercial disputes. Her practice includes drafting and arguing dispositive motions, managing complex discovery, taking and defending depositions, and examining witnesses at trial. Lauren also handles appellate matters and has experience briefing and arguing appeals, including matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Before entering the legal profession, Lauren worked in education and public policy. She began her career as a middle school English teacher before moving into education policy, where she developed public school improvement and support plans in Texas and Colorado. She earned a Master’s degree in Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University and later managed Texas’ school turnaround efforts in four school districts across the state.
Lauren earned her JD with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was a member of the Texas Law Review. During law school, she served as a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinic, interned for two federal judges, and received the Dean’s Achievement Award in three courses.
Lauren’s background in education, policy, and litigation informs her practical approach to representing businesses and individuals in commercial litigation matters throughout Texas.
