Laura Benitez Geisler is an experienced trial lawyer with a focus on catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and civil rights litigation. Her courtroom experience has led to multi-million-dollar jury verdicts and substantial settlements on behalf of her clients, including a $21.375 million-dollar federal jury verdict in 2024 obtained on behalf of a terminated law enforcement officer who was the subject of a retaliatory conspiracy by elected public officials in violation of the officer's First Amendment rights. In addition to her work at the trial court level, Geisler has successfully briefed and argued matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and multiple Texas appellate courts.
Committed to the idea that lawyers have a duty to lead as well as to advocate, Geisler has actively served the legal profession through sustained bar involvement. In 2019, she served as the 110th President of the Dallas Bar Association—the first Hispanic lawyer to hold that position. She is also a past president of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Dallas Bar Foundation, is a member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee and is a Master of the Bench in the Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court.
Laura has been recognized on a number of “top lawyer” lists, including Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers, Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers, and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas. She regards the profession of law as both a privilege and a responsibility is committed to approaching her work—with clients, colleagues, and the broader legal community—with purpose, professionalism, and integrity.
