Awarded Practice Areas
Biography
Webb Campbell’s business litigation practice focuses on representing companies and individuals in shareholder and corporate governance lawsuits, insurance coverage disputes, breach of contract and employment matters, business torts involving fraud and enforcement of restrictive covenants, and plaintiffs’ recovery cases in the area of antitrust. As a veteran trial lawyer with over three decades of experience spanning a wide range of high stakes matters, Webb also teams regularly with national firms in class action securities litigation and other complex disputes based in Tennessee.
Webb is consistently ranked highly in peer review and client-based publications, including Best Lawyers (where he is listed in the category of “Bet-the-Company Litigation” and has been selected three times as the Securities Litigation Lawyer of the Year for the Nashville region), Chambers USA (where he is ranked in Band 1 for Commercial Litigation), and Benchmark Litigation (where he was selected as Tennessee Litigator of the Year). In addition to his state and federal trial and appellate work, Webb is an experienced advocate in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and arbitrations. He is listed as a Rule 31 Mediator by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission established by the Tennessee Supreme Court, and also serves as an arbitrator in business cases.
Webb is the immediate past-Board Chair of Park Center, a Nashville non-profit agency empowering people with mental illness and substance use disorders to live and work in the community. He has also served recently as a member of the Board of Trustees of American Baptist College, an iconic HBCU with a longstanding emphasis on social justice. His pro bono work recently involved amicus curiae filings on behalf of clients in the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
Webb has served as head of the firm’s litigation practice group and has also served on its management and compensation committees. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable John T. Nixon, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
