L. STEPHEN WRIGHT, JR. a shareholder, is the senior member of the firm's Matrimonial and Family Law Group. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he received his B.A. from Samford University and his J.D., cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law. He was selected for membership in Phi Alpha Delta. He is a Curia Honoris member, Cumberland School of Law. Mr. Wright is admitted to the Alabama State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. His memberships include the Birmingham Bar Association, where he served on the Executive Committee, the Domestic Relations Committee, and the Family and Juvenile Courts Procedures Committee; the American Bar Association (Family Law Section); and the Alabama State Bar (Family Law Section). He is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and serves as a member of the Board of Govermors. Mr. Wright is certified as a mediator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Wright served as president of the Academy's Alabama Chapter as well as other offices in the Chapter. Mr. Wright is a Fellow in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is a member of the Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators. In 2001, Mr. Wright was selected as Lawyer of the Year by the BLSA.
