Mr. Rios is a Partner and manages the Boston office of Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP. Mr. Rios focuses on immigration strategies for multinational companies, healthcare, research, and academic institutions, as well as sports and entertainment agencies seeking to transfer key personnel to the U.S. He attended Harvard University and Boston University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Rios was on the Executive Editorial Board of the American Journal of Law and Medicine and a member and later coach of the Hispanic American Law Student Moot Court Team, which placed first in the nation.
Mr. Rios is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”) for which he currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico Chapter and in his fourth term as the Department of Homeland Security Liaison for El Paso, Texas. Previously, he has served on the AILA National Customs and Border Protection Liaison Committee, the Admissions and Border Enforcement Committee, and the Health Care Professionals Committee. He is also a member of the AILA Military Assistance Program providing pro bono legal representation for active duty military personnel and their families.
Mr. Rios is a contributing author on various publications, including The Visa Processing Guide, the Occupational Guidebook Series: Immigration Options for Nurses and Allied Health Care Professionals, and Immigration Law and Procedure: Desk Edition.
