Kurtis Reed

Kurtis Reed is a partner in the Commercial Energy, Corporate, and Projects & Infrastructure Groups, and is head of the Energy Group in Calgary. His practice focuses on commercial and project development arrangements in the energy sector. Kurtis advises a diverse client base on matters including share and asset purchase and sale transactions, joint ventures, project development, transportation and storage arrangements, processing and handling arrangements, power purchase contracts, marketing contracts and numerous other transactional matters.

Kurtis frequently advises on both domestic and cross-border transactions and reorganizations. His experience encompasses the entire spectrum of the oil and gas industry—exploration, production, midstream, downstream, marketing and export and import. With energy transition and the move to net-zero at the forefront, his experience extends to innovative ventures including renewable natural gas, biofuel, helium, hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. Kurtis also advises sophisticated clients across the power industry, including conventional power, renewable energy, data centres and bitcoin mining projects.
