Kurtis Harms

Kurtis is an associate at Farris LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia, and a member of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Group. His practice focuses on Corporate Law, including mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate finance, and corporate governance. He works with public and private companies across a range of industries, providing practical legal advice informed by careful analysis and attention to detail.

Kurtis earned his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, where he achieved the highest overall academic standing in the Business Law Concentration. He joined Farris LLP as an associate in 2020 after completing his summer and articling terms with the firm.

Before pursuing a legal career, Kurtis obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with distinction. His background includes co-captaining an engineering student team that designed and raced autonomous sailboats, contributing to a financial technology startup, and developing software for scientific research. This technical experience supports his work on complex corporate and commercial matters.

Outside the office, Kurtis enjoys cycling and computer programming.
