Biography
Kim Martin is the managing partner of the Firm’s Huntsville office and a member of the Firm’s Board of Governors. She serves as the Co-Chair of the firm's Life Sciences Practice Group and focuses her practice on general litigation with an emphasis on medical device and pharmaceutical products liability litigation. She has represented multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in litigation across the country. Most recently, she has been a national team member for sales and marketing issues defending a pharmaceutical company in multi-district litigation throughout the United States. In this role, she had responsibility for discovery related to sales representatives. Kim has also served as counsel for several jurisdictions in the Hormone Replacement Therapy litigation.
Kim also has experience in representing companies in white collar matters including False Claims Act litigation. She is currently defending a nationwide hospice provider in a False Claim Act lawsuit against the Department of Justice, and she recently obtained dismissal of a False Claims Act suit against a hospital. She also has a wide range of experience in representing clients in general commercial litigation and has been recognized by Best Lawyers as the Huntsville Commercial Litigation "Lawyer of the Year." She also has extensive experience representing media clients on First Amendment issues and defamation claims. Her trial experience includes defense of personal injury, products liability, commercial litigation, First Amendment, and labor and employment claims.
