As a partner in the firm’s Corporate & Securities, Real Estate, and Employment practice groups, Kenneth Jones has more than 30 years of experience in all phases of corporate, real estate, finance, business, commercial and employment law.
Mr. Jones’s broad experience, education and knowledge in real estate and business matters allows him to employ a practical, creative approach in representing his clients.
Mr. Jones represents clients in business planning, entity formation, governance and dissolution of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, strategic alliances, and other business entities and arrangements, and in mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, purchases and sales of numerous types of business and business entities. His clients include manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, retail, e-commerce and service businesses, ranging from start-ups and serial entrepreneurs to mid-size and publicly-traded companies. He advises employers and executives in employment, consulting, compensation and severance matters. He also represents clients in license, franchise, and distributorship arrangements, and in a wide variety of other commercial transactions.
In addition, Mr. Jones advises and represents landowners, investors, developers, property managers, home builders, and commercial landlords and tenants in a wide range of real estate areas. He specializes in due diligence, acquisition, construction, development, management, leasing and sale transactions involving commercial, industrial, office, hotel and hospitality, master planned, mixed-use, multi-family, golf course, healthcare and unimproved properties, as well as real estate owned by financial institutions and governmental entities. He also represents public and private lenders and borrowers in all phases of secured and unsecured commercial lending, having negotiated, documented and closed over $3 billion in loan transactions.
Mr. Jones is a member of the Building Industry Association of San Diego and ProVisors (Carmel Valley IV), and has been active in the San Diego Commercial Real Estate Group, Strategic Trusted Advisors Roundtable (STAR), and Association for Corporate Growth.
He has served on the Housing Committee of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Membership Committee of the San Diego Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).
Mr. Jones is also a frequent speaker to business, professional and service groups on a variety of real estate, business and finance law topics. He has an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as an outstanding attorney by a number of organizations that rate lawyers.
