Advising clients across all areas of intellectual property law, Ken brings particular depth in patent matters and in infringement and validity evaluations within the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and medical device arts. His practice reflects a comprehensive approach to IP protection, encompassing prosecution, counseling, licensing, and litigation related issues that span the full lifecycle of his clients' intellectual property assets.
His extensive experience includes worldwide portfolio management, due diligence in licensing and acquisition transactions, U.S. interferences, reissues, reexaminations, and Inter Partes Reviews, as well as the coordination of European oppositions with U.S. interests. Ken regularly prepares clearance and infringement opinions and advises clients on intellectual property provisions in joint development, supply, distribution, consulting, and employment agreements, ensuring that IP considerations are woven into the fabric of every significant business relationship.
A dedicated educator and thought leader in the field, Ken serves as an adjunct professor at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he lectures on patent prosecution and due diligence. He is a frequent speaker on intellectual property issues, having been invited to present at AUTM meetings, Purdue University's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, and Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, among other distinguished forums.
