Kelly Jines is Senior Counsel with Florentino & Grimshaw LLC, a women-owned, boutique, management-side labor and employment law firm that provides businesses and non-profit organizations with strategic and commercial advice. The firm advises private foundations, Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, start-ups, and others as they navigate the complex world of labor and employment compliance, including HR matters.
Kelly's practice focuses on Employment Law - Management. She advises employers on a broad range of employment and workplace matters throughout the business lifecycle, from start-up to wind down. Before practicing law, Kelly managed national projects, client accounts, and employees in sectors as varied as aviation and telecommunications. That business experience informs her practical approach to the legal and operational challenges faced by employers.
Kelly advises clients on employment policies, offer letters, compliance programs, leaves of absence, employee separations, workplace investigations, and training. She also represents and advises employers in matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblowing allegations, labor relations, executive and employee contracts, compensation structures, wage and hour issues, commission agreements, employee handbooks, terminations, and executive partnership arrangements. When disputes arise, Kelly works with clients to evaluate their options and pursue efficient, commercially informed resolutions, including through mediation, arbitration, negotiated agreements, or litigation.
With a proven track record, Kelly has successfully represented clients before state and federal courts, in front of various administrative agencies, and throughout the arbitration and mediation processes. Kelly began her legal career as a defense attorney, in which she sharpened her negotiation and trial skills representing clients entangled in a variety of issues such as alleged wiretapping, rioting, extradition, large-scale internet theft, and attempted murder.
Outside of work, Kelly is either soaking up moments with her family or gearing up for her next scuba diving adventure.
