Biography
Katie Albanese is a registered patent attorney focusing her practice on litigating intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyright. Katie’s complex patent litigation experience includes medical devices, ANDA/Hatch Waxman matters, electronics, and a variety of software-based technologies. In addition to litigation, Katie handles patent prosecution matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, such as handling post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, including inter partes reviews. Katie also has experience before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), having handled investigations under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. Katie’s trademark experience includes protection, enforcement, and defense of trademarks and trade dress in federal courts throughout the United States. Katie has also handled defense of trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
From 2022-2023, Katie clerked under Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. While in law school, Katie externed with the Honorable Richard G. Andrews in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
