Katherine “Kate” Hanna is an attorney with Sheehan Phinney Bass & Green PA in Manchester, New Hampshire and a member of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group. Her practice focuses on Health Care Law, representing hospitals, specialty hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health and hospice organizations, physician practices, dental practices, and individual healthcare providers, including physicians, dentists, APRNs, PAs, and mental health counselors.
Kate advises healthcare clients on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters, including corporate governance, contracting, licensure, credentialing, employment matters, patient care concerns, and healthcare compliance. She also counsels providers responding to government investigations involving healthcare fraud and abuse, drug diversion, OSHA matters, and related regulatory issues. Drawing on her background in medical malpractice defense, Kate assists clients with risk management strategies and litigation oversight.
In addition to her Health Care Law practice, Kate is a member of the firm’s Government Relations Practice Group. She has extensive experience in state and federal government, including service as Policy Director and Legal Counsel to Governor John Lynch, as an elected Representative in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and as a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate. Kate has participated in the development and drafting of significant healthcare legislation, including New Hampshire’s Advance Directives laws.
Kate frequently lectures on healthcare and regulatory topics affecting providers and healthcare organizations. She has also been recognized for more than 20 consecutive years in “Best Lawyers in America” for her work in healthcare law.
