Kate Epstein represents companies, institutions, and individuals in high-stakes commercial litigation, on both the plaintiff and defense side. Kate’s commercial practice spans a broad array of subject areas—including contract, intellectual property, consumer fraud, partnership dispute, employment, finance, cryptocurrency, bankruptcy, and insurance.
Kate has extensive experience managing large and complex litigation matters, advising executives about potential and ongoing legal disputes, and representing clients in a variety of contexts, including in court, in depositions and transcribed interviews, and in front of government regulators. Kate also regularly advises clients on pre-litigation matters. In addition to her wide-ranging commercial practice, Kate is committed to promoting progressive causes through litigation.
Kate joined the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she handled litigation matters at every stage. Before joining the firm, Kate clerked for the Honorable Gregory A. Phillips of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Kate received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she was Executive Editor of the Harvard Law & Policy Review and a Student Attorney in the Domestic Violence and Family Law Clinic. She graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in political science, magna cum laude.
