Karen Bryson is a family law attorney in the Dallas office of Goranson Bain Ausley. She represents clients in divorce, child custody, premarital agreements, family violence, modifications and enforcement, and adoption.
Karen brings experience in both litigation and constructive resolution to her work. Trained in Collaborative Divorce and mediation, she helps clients evaluate the approach best suited to their circumstances. Some matters can be resolved through negotiation or a collaborative process; others require litigation. Karen helps clients understand their options and make informed decisions about how to proceed.
Her work includes contested custody and family violence matters, protective orders, conservatorship and possession disputes, and other cases involving difficult family dynamics. Before joining Goranson Bain Ausley, Karen worked with the Dallas City Attorney's Office, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas Family Unit, the Equal Justice Works Crime Victims Justice Corps at Mosaic Family Services, and Texas RioGrande Legal Aid.
That early work with crime victims and vulnerable families continues to inform how she represents clients today. Karen also draws on her academic background in psychology when helping clients consider the dynamics and long-term implications of custody and divorce decisions.
Karen has been named to The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2025–2026), Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2025), and D Magazine's Best Lawyers Under 40 (2025).
She earned her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 2016, where she received the Seeley Johnson Award and a Pro Bono and Community Service Award. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, from Howard University in 2012.
