Kamal is a proud trade union advocate and advisor. He fights for unions to win certification, defend against raids and termination efforts, and protect their bargaining rights in sale of business/related employer cases. He specializes in holding employers accountable for committing unfair labour practices during organizing campaigns.
Kamal is experienced at litigating and settling grievances. In addition, he advises and acts for trade unions with respect to occupational health and safety matters, human rights matters, the duty of fair representation, collective bargaining, judicial review, and internal union affairs.
Kamal is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Before going to law school, he worked as an organizer for a service sector trade union – an experience he still draws on to serve his clients today.
