Julie’s practice focuses on professional regulatory law, administrative law, and wills, estates and trusts.
In her professional regulatory practice, she acts for a number regulatory bodies and provides advice on regulatory issues, interpretation of legislation, board policy and governance. She has appeared before various tribunals, the Court of King’s Bench and the Court of Appeal. Julie has experience prosecuting and defending professionals in disciplinary hearings and acts as independent legal counsel to various administrative tribunals. She has worked on projects involving the enactment of new professional regulatory legislation and in developing Bylaws, Codes of Ethics and Standards of Practice for regulatory organizations. She also provides orientation and training to administrative decision-makers on various issues.
In her wills, estates & trusts practice, Julie works with her clients to ensure they have comprehensive and appropriate estate plans, including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Personal Directives. She also works with clients whose estate planning needs may require more complex arrangements including family trusts. In addition, Julie assists executors and other parties with estate administration including probate.
