Biography

With two decades of experience in labour and employment law, Judith Parisien brings sound and pragmatic guidance to management-side labour law and employment litigation matters. Her comprehensive counsel encompasses areas such as employment standards, wrongful dismissal, employment contracts, workplace investigations, workplace policies, labour arbitrations, conflict resolution, negotiations, and human rights. Fluently bilingual, Judith advises clients in both French and English.

Judith has dedicated a significant portion of her practice to advising clients in Ontario’s education sector. Leveraging an adept understanding of the sector’s legal landscape, she has emerged as a trusted advisor to several Ontario school boards and associations. Her acumen in this arena extends to collective agreement negotiation, labour arbitration proceedings, human rights proceedings, and all matters related to helping her clients maintain a productive workforce.

Judith also advises employers on issues arising from corporate restructurings and mergers and acquisitions in the labour and employment context. She is well-versed in conducting high-stakes investigations, serving as an external investigator for matters ranging from discrimination and harassment, to employee misconduct encompassing conflicts of interest, nepotism, and whistleblower claims, as well as investigations involving senior leadership. An integral member of Fasken’s national Labour, Employment and Human Rights (LEHR) Group, Judith is also committed to providing guidance on equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Judith’s advocacy spans various courts and administrative tribunals, including boards of arbitration, provincial tribunals, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. Beyond the courtroom, she frequently shares her insights at conferences and with management groups, addressing a broad spectrum of employment and labour-related topics.
