Biography

Joshua Rubenstein grew up in New Orleans and was the three-time Louisiana State High School Champion in Extemporaneous Speaking, which meant he was destined to be a trial lawyer.

While in law school, he worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to Judge Roland Belsome, then of Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans (New Orleans) and as a judicial extern for Louisiana Fourth Circuit Judge Pattie Murray. Following law school, he worked as Judge Ethel Simms Julien's law clerk and then entered private practice with a general defense firm, handling insurance disputes and product liability claims. He then went to work with a national asbestos firm, rising to partner.

Joshua joined the Blake Jones Law Firm in 2008. He has a Maritime Law Specialization Certificate from Tulane University Law School and is actively engaged in transportation litigation involving personal injury and death, whether on the high seas or on the highways of America, and also represents families in asbestos (mesothelioma) litigation against employers and product manufacturers.

Joshua is admitted to practice law in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Washington and Alaska and has been admitted "pro hac vice" in West Virginia and other states. He has served as an assistant bar examiner for the torts section of the Louisiana Bar Exam.

He was a "Forty Under Forty" from Gambit Magazine (New Orleans) in 2010 and has been involved in various charities, including the New Orleans Chapter of the March of Dimes, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, the Jewish Federations of North America, the Jewish Agency for Israel, United Israel Appeal and Jewish Family Service of New Orleans.
