Josh Hodges is a lawyer serving clients in Hamilton, Ohio, and throughout the state of Ohio. His path to practicing law was shaped by hard work, persistence, and a firsthand understanding of the challenges many people face.
Soon after high school, Josh began working full-time in a factory. He operated machinery that dipped hot metal parts into liquid plastic and later worked a third-shift factory job. During that period, he attended classes at Miami University Regionals in Hamilton, sometimes arriving after only a short nap in his car. He continued working, attending class, and moving forward until he graduated with honors. Those experiences gave Josh a practical perspective on work, financial pressure, and perseverance—qualities he brings to his work with clients and their families.
Josh earned his law degree Summa Cum Laude from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he served as Student Bar Association President and National Treasurer of the National Black Law Students Association. After law school, he worked at a large Midwestern law firm handling complex civil litigation for corporations and governmental entities. His work included defending personal injury claims and representing insurance companies, businesses, and other organizations in matters involving more than $100 million in total disputed value.
That defense-side experience provided Josh with insight into how insurance companies, corporations, and their attorneys evaluate injury claims, develop defenses, and assess potential liability. He applies that perspective when representing individuals and families in personal injury, wrongful death, and other civil claims.
After working with clients across the country and internationally, Josh returned home to Hamilton, Ohio. He lives in the community, his children attend school there, and his family and longtime friends are nearby. Josh represents clients in serious personal injury cases, including commercial trucking and semi-truck accidents, wrongful death claims, catastrophic injuries, and collisions involving negligent drivers or corporations. He intentionally limits the number of cases he handles so he can remain directly involved in each client’s matter. When an Ohio family loses a loved one or suffers significant injuries because of another party’s conduct, Josh works to investigate the claim, explain the available legal options, and pursue appropriate compensation through negotiation or litigation.
His team has recovered more than $10 million for injured Ohioans in 2025 alone. Past results do not predict or indicate a similar result in any future case.
In addition to his legal practice, Josh speaks on national legal podcasts and at conferences about building meaningful connections within local communities. He also mentors lawyers who are establishing their own practices and regularly highlights Ohio businesses and community leaders through his social media account, @TheHometownLawyer.
