Since day one, Joshua Schwartz’ practice has been focused on the representation of plaintiffs in complex wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury matters including medical malpractice and products liability. His passion and dedication to the representation of victims of catastrophic injuries goes beyond his efforts in the courtroom. He is the immediate past chair of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice’s Future Leaders section and serves on PAJ’s Board of Governors. He is also the current chair of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association Future Leaders Section and serves on PTLA’s Board of Directors. Joshua has been designated by his peers in Pennsylvania SuperLawyers as a “Rising Star” - a designation limited to the the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state who are 40 or younger – in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Josh received his law degree from Widener University School of Law. While attending law school, Josh served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Matthews of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. Josh received Widener Law’s Outstanding Student Service Award and received the President’s Service Award. Prior to law school, Josh received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Sciences with a concentration in Rhetorical Theory from The Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State Josh completed a semester abroad at The Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. While in Prague, Josh taught English classes at Czech High Schools. Also, while at Penn State, Josh served in the Pennsylvania Literacy Corps, tutoring English to those studying for their TOEFL exam.

Josh is very active in his community. Josh volunteers his time representing clients pro bono through Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program. He is co-founder of The Spruce Foundation, a non-profit organization that has made a considerable impact on the lives of many youth in Philadelphia. Josh completed the Leadership Development Program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
