In addition to his trial practice, Joe has served either as advocate or arbitrator in more than 150 arbitration disputes administered by the American Arbitration Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes, (an agency of the World Bank) the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Court. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Arbitration Association since 2003 and was recently invited to membership in the College of Commercial Arbitrators. He has taught international dispute resolution in Austria, Mongolia and Scotland.
Joe received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was the Wesley Sturges Honor Scholar, graduating first in his class in 1977. He received his undergraduate degree from The Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio, where he won the National Championship in Persuasive Speaking.
