Joseph E. "Joe" Kovarik

With his technical training in biochemistry and molecular, cellular and developmental biology, Mr. Kovarik represents many innovators in the medical device and biosciences fields. His practice, however, is much more expansive, and includes innovative commercial products, insurance related methods, sportswear, health and beauty products, food products and formulations, lighting devices, plumbing and water treatment facilities, etc. Mr. Kovarik’s varied practice includes both patent prosecution and enforcement of intellectual property rights, often involving the mediation, arbitration or litigation of intellectual property issues.

Over 25 years, Mr. Kovarik has prosecuted hundreds of patents to issuance, structured numerous licensing transactions, and participated in arbitrations, mediations, litigations and appeals. He has developed a varied practice directed towards the appreciation of intellectual property values and the pursuit of opportunities to advance the interests of his clients.

Mr. Kovarik is involved with various charitable groups, previously serving on the board of The Children’s Hospital Research Foundation. He has also taught intellectual property law classes as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, is a guest lecturer at CU’s Entrepreneurship school and presents at various inventor groups in the Denver area.
