Joseph Caneco focuses his practice on bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights matters. He represents debtors, creditors’ committees, secured lenders, general unsecured creditors, and trustees in proceedings before U.S. Bankruptcy and state courts, as well as in connection with out-of-court transactions. Before joining Fishman Haygood, Joseph practiced at two nationally recognized firms headquartered in New York City.
Joseph received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. He later received his Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was on the Dean’s List.
Prior to law school, Joseph served in a variety of squadron divisional leadership roles as a Naval Flight Officer, flying carrier-based tactical aircraft and deploying in support of combat operations.
