Biography
José L. Maymí-González is an associate in the San Juan, Puerto Rico, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
José advises clients on matters such as employment contracts and policy drafting, the administration of statutory leaves, and termination litigation. He represents clients in federal, state, and administrative forums, including the EEOC and its local counterpart. With a solid understanding of the issues, José strives to pair sound legal strategy with practical solutions. This approach, coupled with his steadfast focus on providing the best service to clients, shapes José’s approach to employment matters.
During law school, José clerked at the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Principal Legal Advisor. Additionally, he served as the digital director of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review and participated in numerous moot court competitions. José is also proud to have served as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, where he distinguished himself as an infantryman. These past experiences have equipped him with a range of skills that he utilizes in advocating for clients’ interests.
