Jose I. Rojas focuses his practice in resolving or trying complex intellectual property, technology (computer, software and internet) and business-related claims and disputes and cross-border suits. He has substantial trial experience, including jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. Jose graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law and has attained the highest ability and ethics rating from his peers (AV Preeminent 5.0), according to Martindale-Hubbell. After attaining partnership in one of the nation's largest law firms, Jose joined with similar colleagues to form their own "boutique" firm in 2001. In September 2015, he merged the practice with DLD Lawyers and the firm now has over 20 attorneys in three offices in South Florida (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach). He is privileged to have been selected to membership in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel ("FDCC") and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys ("ADTA"). Jose is a member of INTA and AIPLA and serves as Board Counsel to the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms ("NAMWOLF"). He was founder and co-Chair of the NAMWOLF IP practice area committee and its Trials committee. He also serves on the Federal Court Committee (Vice Chair, 2003-2004) of the Dade County Bar Association and the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. He serves by appointment of the U.S Secretary of Commerce as Vice Chair of the South Florida District Export Council. He recently served a three-year term on The Florida Bar's Grievance Committee 11M and was chair of that committee during 2015. Jose is fully bilingual in Spanish and has basic proficiency in Portuguese.
