Biography

Jordan L. Grosgebauer is a partner at Wahlberg, Woodruff, Grosgebauer & Sloane LLP in Denver, Colorado. Her practice focuses on Plaintiffs Medical Malpractice Law, and Personal Injury Litigation, with an emphasis on complex civil litigation. With more than ten years of legal experience, she represents injured individuals and families in Colorado and other jurisdictions, including California, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Mrs. Grosgebauer represents clients harmed by medical malpractice, including cases involving childbirth injuries, obstetrical complications, delayed or missed diagnoses, medication errors, and surgical injuries. She also devotes a significant portion of her practice to representing families affected by the wrongful death of an infant due to mismanaged labor and delivery. Through negotiation and litigation, she has negotiated millions of dollars in settlements on behalf of medical malpractice and personal injury plaintiffs.

Jordan L. Grosgebauer has also been at the forefront of Colorado’s Candor Act, a pioneering initiative that enables injured patients and healthcare providers to engage in early, confidential discussions to address medical malpractice claims and pursue resolution outside of formal litigation. She has guided clients through the Candor process, helping them understand their rights and options while advocating for accountability and fair compensation following medical errors.

In 2024, Mrs. Grosgebauer was elected to the Board of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), where she continues to advocate for individuals injured by negligence. In 2024, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association played a leading role in legislative efforts to update Colorado’s medical malpractice damages caps. Mrs. Grosgebauer supported these efforts by attending the legislative hearing and providing client-centered testimony in support of the bill. House Bill 24-1472 (HB24-1472), passed in 2024, significantly increasing these caps beginning January 1, 2025. The law raises the medical malpractice cap on non-economic damages from $300,000 to $875,00, and raises the medical malpractice wrongful death caps to $1,575,000, over a five-year period. expanding the ability of injured patients and their families to obtain fair compensation.

Prior to entering private practice, Mrs. Grosgebauer served as a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County, Colorado. In that role, she represented thousands of victims and tried more than 65 jury trials involving a wide range of cases, including serious felonies and complex criminal matters. Her background as a prosecutor informs her trial preparation, courtroom advocacy, and approach to high-stakes litigation.

A native of Colorado’s Western Slope, Mrs. Grosgebauer maintains strong ties to her community. She graduated magna cum laude from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Psychology and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2015. During law school, she clerked for the United States District Court and participated in the Student Trial Lawyers Association and the National Trial Team.

Mrs. Grosgebauer considers representing injured clients and helping them navigate the legal system to be among the most meaningful aspects of her work. In addition to her legal practice, she regularly presents at continuing legal education programs and serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
