Jonathan S. Bowman is a principal in Cohen and Wolf's Litigation, Appellate, Municipal, and Real Estate Groups. Resident in the firm's Bridgeport office, Mr. Bowman practices in the areas of title insurance, real estate and condominium law, condemnations, property tax appeals, foreclosures, workouts and bankruptcy law.
He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Mr. Bowman is a member of the American, Connecticut and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations. He served six years as a member of the Client Security Fund Committee, having been appointed by the Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court.
Mr. Bowman served as a lecturer on law at the University of Bridgeport and as a member of the Fairfield Charter Revision Commission. He served 8 years on the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting, including four years as deputy moderator. He has been counsel to the affordable housing program of the Town of Fairfield, and is currently the tax attorney for the Town of Fairfield. He represents national title insurance companies and defends claims on their behalf.
Mr. Bowman is listed in the Best Lawyers in America (2013-2019) for his work in the areas of Insurance Law and Real Estate Law and has been named a Connecticut Super Lawyer (2013-2017) for Real Estate. Mr. Bowman received his A.B. in 1963 from Indiana University and his J.D. in 1966 from the University of Connecticut.
