Jonathan H. Selnes

Jonathan is an experienced civil and commercial litigator who advises clients on a broad range of matters, including commercial litigation proceedings, real estate disputes, estate litigation, insurance matters, and class actions. His practice crosses multiple industries, including construction, real estate, and oil and gas.

With experience handling a breadth of cases, Jonathan advises on shareholder disputes, oppression remedies, professional negligence matters, complex commercial conflicts, class actions, real estate disagreements, and construction, engineering, and oil and gas disputes.

His experience extends to estate litigation, including challenges to powers of attorney, disputes over estate administration, and claims against executors and trustees. Jonathan also assists beneficiaries in securing their rightful entitlements from estates.

Jonathan regularly handles both domestic and international arbitrations and regulatory prosecutions, and has represented clients at all levels of Alberta’s courts, the Alberta Securities Commission, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Manitoba, and before major regulatory bodies.
