Biography

John M. Williams is a native of Harlan County, Kentucky, and a partner in Williams, Kilpatrick & True, PLLC, in Lexington, Kentucky. John graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1984 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky in 1987. He is AV© Rated by Martindale Hubbell and is a Kentucky Super Lawyer™ as rated by Thompson Reuters.

He represents numerous mineral operators in safety matters before the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. He is a frequent on mine safety and litigation issues.

John also maintains a civil practice outside the mineral area, representing numerous businesses and individuals in civil litigation in both state and federal court. He also assists clients in a wide range of business matters ranging from business formation to transactions.

John has served on the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Kentucky, Inc. for over 20 years. He is also a Trustee for the Kentucky Lawyers Assistance Program Foundation, Inc. and a volunteer counselor for the Kentucky Bar Association Lawyers Assistance Program.
