As the name suggests, John is the founder of Kain C+C Lawyers, but that is just one string to his bow. Since 1990 he has developed an enviable reputation in corporate and equity capital markets law, being consistently named one of South Australia’s leading corporate lawyers since 2010.
Why that reputation? Whilst many lawyers will talk about commercially relevant advice, John has the hands-on experience to back it up. That experience dates back to 1988, when whilst still at university, John co-founded the Newpin Industrial Cleaning Company. Since then he has founded or co-founded more than four successful companies – including Kain C+C Lawyers, the Kain C+C Charitable Foundation, an alternative asset management company (subsequently listed on the ASX) and a private investment company.
In addition to his role as Managing Director of Kain C+C John also Chairs ASX listed Blue Sky Alternative Investments Limited [ASX:BLA]. These roles have allowed John to forge a unique skill set by marrying market-leading skills in corporate law, with executive experience as Managing Director of Kain C+C and non-executive experience in regulated equity capital markets as Chair of Blue Sky Alternative Investments. This unique skill set gives John the rare ability to view and apply the law through a commercial lens.
