John G. Yslas, Esq. is a Senior Partner and Chair of the Employment Wage & Hour Class Action Department at Wilshire Law Firm PLC in Los Angeles, California. His practice focuses on Litigation – Labor and Employment, including wage and hour class actions and select single-plaintiff employment matters. Mr. Yslas has more than 30 years of legal experience representing clients in complex employment litigation matters throughout California.
Before joining Wilshire Law Firm in 2022, Mr. Yslas served in leadership roles as a Partner at three international law firms ranked among the AmLaw 100: Foley & Lardner, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Seyfarth Shaw. His background representing employers and handling high-stakes litigation provides valuable insight into employment law disputes involving wage and hour claims, workplace policies, and class action litigation.
Mr. Yslas is among the attorneys in California who have litigated and prevailed in a wage and hour class action jury trial. Since beginning his plaintiffs’ practice in mid-2023, he has helped secure more than $225 million in settlements and verdicts in employment-related matters. He represents employees in cases involving wage and hour violations, workplace disputes, and other labor and employment litigation issues.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Yslas has maintained a longstanding commitment to civic involvement, mentorship, and diversity initiatives within the legal profession. He previously served as Southern California Regional President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mexican American Bar Foundation. He also previously served as National Chair of the Communications Committee for HNBA and as a Board member of the California Minority Counsel Program.
Mr. Yslas has also held public service appointments under two Los Angeles mayors, serving as a Commissioner for both the Los Angeles Civil Service Commission and the Los Angeles Convention Center Commission.
