John Burleson is a member of Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC in Jackson, Tennessee. He has been associated with the firm since earning his law degree, with honors, from the University of Tennessee in 1983. His practice includes representing employers and management in Employment Law matters, Labor and Employment Litigation, and Workers’ Compensation Law for employers.
Mr. Burleson is a Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator, a designation he obtained in 2013. He is one of a limited number of attorneys in the Jackson, Tennessee area listed in the U.S. District Court Mediator Directory. Since becoming listed, he has mediated cases in both state and federal courts throughout Middle and West Tennessee. His mediation experience includes disputes involving age, gender, and race discrimination, FMLA claims, sexual harassment, civil rights matters, wage and hour issues, ADA claims, noncompete and contract disputes, construction litigation, landowner disputes, premises liability, and automobile accident cases.
In addition to his litigation and management-side employment practice, Mr. Burleson has been inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN). The NADN is a professional association of alternative dispute resolution practitioners whose membership is based on demonstrated experience in civil and commercial mediation. Members are selected through a peer review and evaluation process conducted by local litigators and the Academy.
