John Lessel is an attorney with RMP LLP in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he focuses his practice on Tax Law and Trusts and Estates. He works with individuals, families, and business owners on planning and compliance matters designed to address both current needs and long-term goals. John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1970. He received his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the University of San Diego in 1976, followed by a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the same institution in 1981.
John’s practice includes estate planning and trust administration, post-death estate administration, and tax planning for corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and individuals. He also advises on private placement securities offerings, entity formation and governance, and business sales, acquisitions, and financing. John has been licensed to practice law in California since 1976 and in Arkansas since 1978, and he brings decades of experience to his work with clients in Little Rock and throughout Arkansas.
John is known for his thoughtful and practical approach to legal counseling, taking the time to understand each client’s personal, financial, and family circumstances. He values clear communication and works closely with clients to help them make informed decisions regarding their tax and estate planning matters. Outside of his legal practice at RMP Law, John enjoys photography, woodworking, and instructing at Porsche Club of America high-performance driver education events and BMW Club of America driver school weekends.
