Johannes Makepeace

As a criminal defense lawyer, Dr. Johannes Makepeace advises, represents, and defends his clients in complex criminal law and white collar cases. With conviction, he pursues the goal of providing a competent defense to his clients facing criminal proceedings with serious consequences, often threatening their very existence, in order to achieve the best possible result.

After pursuing a doctorate degree in criminal procedural law (summa cum laude) and teaching criminal law at the University of Regensburg, Johannes Makepeace worked as a lawyer, inter alia, for an international corporate law firm, advising German and international clients and businesses on white collar crime, high-stakes internal investigations, and complex compliance issues.

In 2023, Johannes Makepeace founded "Makepeace Strafverteidigung" to provide his clients with a modern, robust, and best-possible defense, focusing on general criminal law, white collar and tax criminal defense.

Johannes Makepeace advises his clients in all phases of criminal proceedings: from the first interrogations and dawn raids in the preliminary proceedings, through the main hearings and the appeal proceedings, to the particularly stressful situation caused by (pre-trial) detention.
