Jessica L. Toelstedt joined Mason Law & Mediation LLC as a partner in 2025 and has practiced family and matrimonial law in New York for nearly twenty years. Before joining the firm, she was a partner at Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein, LLP, where she served as Co-Chair of the Mediation and Collaborative Law Practice.
Jessica represents clients in matters involving Family Law, Collaborative Law: Family Law, and Family Law Mediation. After spending the first half of her career litigating matrimonial matters, she shifted her focus to helping individuals and families resolve disputes outside of court through mediation and collaborative processes. Her approach is informed by both her years in litigation and her personal understanding of the challenges families may face during divorce and other family law matters.
Jessica works with clients throughout New York, New York, and surrounding communities, helping them navigate divorce, custody, parenting, and related family law issues with a focus on practical and constructive resolutions. She values the opportunity to guide individuals and couples through significant life transitions while helping them work toward outcomes that support their long-term goals and family relationships.
Her professional accomplishments include receiving an AV Preeminent peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell and being selected to the New York Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists for more than a decade.
Jessica completed mediation training through the Center for Understanding in Conflict and Collaborative Law training through the New York Association of Collaborative Law Professionals. She also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York.
Jessica lives on Long Island with her husband, two children, and their yellow lab, Penny.
