Mr. Slusky is a partner in Smith Gardner Slusky Law, L.L.C. Prior to that time, Mr. Slusky had been a shareholder, director and principal of Gross & Welch, P.C., and a partner with the Omaha office of Kutak Rock. Mr. Slusky serves local and regional clients in real estate and related matters. He is a member of the Omaha Bar, Nebraska Bar, Iowa Bar and Florida Bar Associations and holds a Nebraska Real Estate Brokers License. Mr. Slusky is known for his expertise in real estate planning, zoning, development, financing and leasing. His experience includes having served as Vice President of Development for Noddle Development Company, an Omaha-based retail shopping center developer. As adjunct professor of law at Creighton University School of Law from 1990-1996, Mr. Slusky taught real estate planning, development and taxation. In 1990, while teaching at Creighton Law, Mr. Slusky founded the Commercial Real Estate Workshop (“CREW”) which he has continued to chair for 23 years. CREW has become the Midwest’s largest and most informative real estate law conference and is annually attended by over 500 commercial real estate professionals, including brokers, developers, lenders, title insurance professionals, attorneys, appraisers, government officials and engineers. In 2003, Mr. Slusky was elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). He’s one of six Nebraskans to be named to the College. Mr. Slusky was recognized by Chambers & Partners’ legal publication, “America’s Leading Business Lawyers Client Guide,” for his extensive experience in real estate including zoning, municipal law and finance matters, tax appeals and tax-deferred transactions. He was voted among the best lawyers in the United States by Best Lawyers in America, 2003-2012 directory, and has been recognized by Omaha Magazine as “One of Omaha’s Best Real Estate Attorneys.” Mr. Slusky was appointed as a member of the Midwest Real Estate News Advisory Board in 2004. In addition to his legal training and experiences, Mr. Slusky is a trained mediator who has studied with the Office of Dispute Resolution, and most recently undertook the intensive mediation training workshops offered by the internationally recognized leader in the field of mediation, ADR Chambers, through the University of Windsor in Toronto.
