Jens Engelhardt is a lawyer, specialist lawyer for information technology law (IT law), specialist lawyer for industrial property rights and specialist lawyer for copyright and media law.
He conducts negotiations and litigations when technology and/or IT projects are in a state of distress, in (imminent) infringements of copyrights, trademark rights, business, and trade secrets and in unfair competition. The strategic planning and implementation of complex and often international procedures form the focus of his activities.
In addition, Jens has more than 18 years of experience in advising and drafting contracts for national and international clients in matters of IT and technology law, in particular in questions of the legal structuring of IT projects, IT outsourcing, software projects, multimedia projects and research and development projects, plant construction, licensing and distribution, technology transfer and in the legal structuring and safeguarding of innovative and digital business models.
Jens is a leading adviser and external Data Protection Officer (DPO) for companies in the area of data protection, IT security and IT compliance in conjunction with the development and realization of data-protection and safety concepts according to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In the introduction of new software and new technologies such as CRM-Systems, Big Data Applications, blockchain technologies, tracking systems, credit card payment systems (PCI-DSS), location-based-services and social media applications he develops for companies application strategies and solutions in accordance with the best-practice method, compliant in each case with data protection regulations. As a defense counsel, he represents companies and persons responsible in data protection fine proceedings and criminal proceedings before the supervisory authorities and the courts.
