Jennifer Taylor is a Partner at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, where she serves as a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Committee and Administrative Team and leads the client intake, co-counsel and referral relationships, and operational compliance teams. She has played a significant role in the firm’s growth, and her efforts reflect a strong commitment to client service, operational leadership, and community involvement.
Education and Early FoundationsJennifer earned her JD from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and her undergraduate degree in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her path to becoming an attorney reflected determination and persistence. While attending law school, Jennifer balanced a 3-hour round trip commute and significant family responsibilities - experiences that helped shape her disciplined approach to her work.
Career Development and Advocacy ExperienceJennifer began her legal career advocating for individuals facing significant challenges, including survivors of domestic violence, low-income individuals, and those seeking disability benefits. She spent several years with Legal Aid of North Carolina, where she represented vulnerable populations and developed a strong foundation in client-centered advocacy.
Jennifer later expanded her practice to include representation of individuals pursuing Social Security Disability benefits, as well as personal injury matters. Her experience across multiple areas of law has contributed to a well-rounded understanding of the legal and personal issues her clients may face.

Her guidance has helped elevate the firm’s operational efficiency and client service. She has also expanded access to legal representation for hundreds of North Carolinians and reinforced the firm’s high ethical standards and financial accountability.

Actively involved in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, Jennifer has previously served in multiple leadership roles within the Disability Advocacy Section, including Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. She is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives and the North Carolina Bar Association.
Beyond her legal work, Jennifer is committed to community engagement and advocacy. She supports efforts to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation and participates in related outreach initiatives. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and being outdoors.
