Jenna Stupar is a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and represents large companies, including in several high-profile cases involving billions of dollars.

As the valedictorian of her law school class, Jenna understands the hard work it takes to succeed and enjoys every minute of it. Jenna prioritizes open and frequent communication with her clients and her teams. She is passionate about team building, creating an inclusive environment where all ideas can be shared, and mentoring younger lawyers. She focuses on excellent-quality work, creativity, and fostering healthy, high-functioning teams to achieve client goals.

Never afraid of a challenge, Jenna’s cases, clients, and claims are all unique, ranging from bet-the-company antitrust class actions in the protein industry to high stakes toxic tort litigation to Medicare fraud, government investigations, and everything in between. She brings dedication and creativity to each and every one of her cases, and it has paid off. In In re Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation, Jenna served as the primary liaison counsel in a multi-billion dollar case involving 20 Defendants, three classes, and over 150 opt out Plaintiffs. In re Akorn, Inc., et al, Jenna and her team acted as lead counsel for Akorn, Inc. and certain subsidiaries, a generic pharmaceuticals company with approximately $816.7 million of funded debt, in their Chapter 11 cases filed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. The team conducted a contested sale and confirmation hearing via Zoom in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they won.

Jenna has a strong track record in court, routinely winning big motions and cases. She’s been described by her colleagues as “fearless” in her approach to all aspects of her cases. Jenna has won crucial dispositive motions, including one for a Fortune 500 engineered materials company and another for a multinational insurance company. She has defended executives at some of the nation’s largest companies and at the highest levels of the government.

In addition to her complex commercial litigation practice, Jenna maintains a steady pro bono practice. She has represented a victim of human trafficking in getting her criminal record expunged so that she could find work. Jenna also recently filed a petition for habeas corpus in federal court as part of her pro bono practice. And Jenna has also represented charitable organizations in obtaining appropriate tax exemptions in the state of Illinois.
