Jeffrey N. Rich

I have more than 49 years' experience in the areas of creditors' rights, financial restructuring, and bankruptcy, and extensive experience in corporate law, asset-based lending, equipment leasing, factoring, commercial finance and securitization of assets. During my career, I have litigated in both federal and state courts, including the bankruptcy courts and appellate courts. I have also been a court-approved mediator for the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York since inception for disputes arising in and out of bankruptcy proceedings and am also called upon to mediate corporate and commercial matters outside of the financial restructuring area. I have been voted as one of the Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and New York Best Lawyers in the field of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy for the past 16 years and frequently participate in seminars and panel discussions on subjects in the area of financial restructuring.

I have been a partner in a major international law firm where I chaired the restructuring and bankruptcy practice and also served as Assistant General Counsel for a major institutional lender. In 1978, I founded my own law firm, which grew to over 30 lawyers. The experience I have gained in these various positions enables me to see all sides of a problem and to give my clients practical advice in an efficient manner and at a reasonable cost, without ever sacrificing excellence in the pursuit of my clients' objectives. I have represented Fortune 500 companies, individuals and corporate debtors, trustees, major lenders, asset purchasers, real estate developers and landlords, investors, creditors and creditors and equity committees.
