Biography

Jeffrey L. Griffin is an attorney with Harris Shelton PLLC in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers for his work in Litigation - Health Care, Medical Malpractice Law - Defendants, and Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants. His practice focuses on representing health care providers, organizations, and businesses in complex disputes and regulatory matters.

Managing legal issues that arise in the health care environment can be challenging. With nearly two decades of experience representing hospitals, physicians, advanced practice providers, and other health care professionals, Mr. Griffin works closely with clients to address operational, regulatory, and litigation concerns. His work has included assisting with credentialing and privileging matters, drafting and revising medical staff bylaws, representation before peer review panels, billing and compliance issues, and risk management considerations affecting hospital operations.

Mr. Griffin also represents clients in health care liability matters in both federal and state courts across Tennessee and in Mississippi. His litigation practice includes defending claims involving medical malpractice and other health care–related disputes. In addition to representing health care clients, he serves as an arbitrator in health care matters and is listed as a panel arbitrator for the American Health Lawyers Association.

Beyond his health care practice, Mr. Griffin represents small and mid-sized businesses and their owners in a variety of disputes. These matters include non-compete and non-solicitation enforcement, insurance coverage and claims disputes, breach of contract claims, and debt collection. His work often involves helping businesses address conflicts within their organizations as well as disputes with third parties.

Mr. Griffin is also active in the Memphis community. He is a founding Board Member of TEN45 and previously served on the Board and as an officer of JIFF (Juvenile Interventional Faith-Based Follow Up), an organization dedicated to addressing juvenile crime and supporting youth in Shelby County.
