Jeffrey E. Kaman

Jeffrey E. Kaman serves as the Administration Department and Columbus Office Chair at Kaman & Cusimano LLC, located in Columbus, Ohio. Jeff obtained his law degree from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law after graduating with honors from Loyola University Chicago with degrees in Honors History and Political Science. At Kaman & Cusimano, Jeff is extensively involved in community association law, concentrating on association operations, managing general operational inquiries, and dedicating time to drafting governing document amendments, reviewing contracts, and writing opinion letters for condominium and homeowner association clients.

Jeff actively participates in the Community Association Institute, where he is a board member for the Central Ohio Chapter and Chairs the Programs Committee for the Ohio Valley Chapter. Additionally, Jeff leads CAI’s national case law update summary team, a role that involves reviewing and summarizing major community association court decisions nationwide, thus aiding CAI’s attorney members in understanding trends and updates in the legal arena for condominiums and homeowner associations.

With six years of experience on his condominium association’s board, Jeff empathizes with the array of challenges facing community association board members, wearing the dual hats of a board member and a unit owner. Leveraging this experience, Jeff frequently attends community association meetings to build relationships with clients and their property managers, educate board members and owners on Ohio community association laws, and discuss topics including reserves, collections, enforcement, insurance, pending legislation, and developer transitions. He also assists with moderating elections, explaining governing document amendments, and clarifying owner and association responsibilities.

Jeff is keen on navigating the challenges and opportunities that technological advancements bring to condominium and homeowner associations. He played a pivotal role in launching ATLAS: the Association Total Legal Assistance System, which is Kaman & Cusimano’s cutting-edge online resource for board members and community association managers. Additionally, Jeff contributes regularly to the K&C Community Association Law Blog and other online publications.

In 2021 and 2022, Jeff was recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction awarded to under 2.5% of attorneys in Ohio.
