Jeff Langlois

Jeff Langlois is a partner at JFK Law LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia. He represents First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities across Canada, with a focus on Western and Northern Canada. Jeff’s practice includes Aboriginal Law / Indigenous Practice, Administrative and Public Law, and Natural Resources Law.

Jeff advises and represents Indigenous communities in court proceedings, regulatory matters and negotiations. His work supports Indigenous decision-making, the protection of lands and resources, and the interpretation and implementation of historic and modern treaties.

In his litigation practice, Jeff acts as counsel in civil, constitutional and regulatory proceedings at all levels of court. His matters include judicial reviews of government decisions, treaty rights infringement claims and interventions. He assists clients with the recognition, protection and enforcement of Aboriginal and treaty rights.

Jeff advises communities responding to resource development and infrastructure projects affecting their lands and waters. His work includes consultation and accommodation processes, environmental assessments, regulatory hearings and impact benefit agreements. He also assists clients with land use planning, Aboriginal title, specific claims and related natural resources matters.

Jeff supports Indigenous communities in discussions and negotiations with federal, provincial and territorial governments. He has particular experience with the negotiation, interpretation and implementation of modern treaties in Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He also represents clients seeking government recognition of and respect for their Aboriginal and treaty rights, including rights relating to Aboriginal title and self-government.

Jeff is called to the bars of British Columbia (2009), Alberta (2016), Yukon (2018), Saskatchewan (2020), the Northwest Territories (2026) and Nunavut (2026). He is ranked by Chambers Canada for his work representing Indigenous peoples, recognized as a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation Canada (2026), and recognized in Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada. Jeff holds an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and a B.A. in History from the University of Calgary.
