For Jeb Butler, practicing law is about preparation, persistence, and accountability. Successful cases are rarely built on dramatic courtroom moments alone. They are built through careful investigation, disciplined strategy, detailed preparation, and a willingness to put in the work from the beginning of a case through trial or resolution.
At Butler Kahn in Atlanta, Georgia, Jeb represents individuals and families in complex litigation involving Medical Malpractice Law - Plaintiffs, Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, and Product Liability Litigation - Plaintiffs. His approach focuses on understanding the facts, developing strong evidence, and preparing every case with attention to detail. From reviewing records and taking depositions to drafting motions and preparing for trial, Jeb believes results are often shaped by the work clients never see.
Jeb enjoys the challenge and responsibility that come with representing people during difficult moments in their lives. He values the opportunity to help clients pursue accountability and meaningful change through the civil justice system. Over the course of his career, he has worked on cases involving defective products, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, medical negligence, and institutional misconduct.
Jeb was part of the trial team that obtained a $150,000,000 verdict in a product liability case involving Jeep fuel tank placement. He also handled a police pursuit case that resulted in policy changes designed to improve public safety. Additional publicly disclosed results include a $500,000 verdict for a woman abused by her pastor, a $45,000,000 settlement in a motorcycle accident case, a $3,973,260 settlement involving a boating accident, and a $1,250,000 settlement in a pedestrian wrongful death matter. He has also worked on additional confidential multimillion-dollar settlements that cannot be publicly disclosed.
Jeb earned his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. While in law school, he published on the Law Review, competed in the National Moot Court competition, and earned both the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. Through the Third Year Practice Act, he tried a case on behalf of an indigent defendant while still in law school.
After graduating, Jeb clerked for the Honorable Lisa Godbey Wood of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He later worked at the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained courtroom and trial experience handling criminal prosecutions. Before founding his current firm, he practiced with Butler Wooten & Fryhofer, continuing a family tradition of trial work and client advocacy.
Outside the office, Jeb enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne Wyrsch Butler, and their children, Farrah and Jim. He enjoys hiking, traveling, and caring for the family’s backyard chickens. He is also proud of helping train Lou, the family’s black lab. Earlier in life, Jeb enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying airplanes, and he still maintains that he was once one of the best wiffleball pitchers in Athens, Georgia.
