Jean-Philippe Joyal

Jean-Philippe Joyal is a partner in the firm’s Investment Funds Group.

Jean-Philippe focuses his practice on advising managers on all aspects of their business including the structuring, formation, marketing and management of investment funds, the launching of new business lines, GP-led secondaries, strategic investments and transactions and regulatory issues.

Jean-Philippe has represented numerous managers in establishing open-end and closed funds, fund-of-funds structure, special purpose vehicles and separately managed accounts covering multiple alternative classes such as private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, real estate, renewable energy and many others. He also routinely works with managers on firm-wide issues such as carried interest incentive structuring, governance matters and the purchase and sale of interests in management companies.
