Jason Williams is a Chicago personal injury attorney at Smith LaCien LLP. His practice includes catastrophic personal injury, Product Liability Litigation - Plaintiffs, medical malpractice, and wrongful death matters.
Jason joined Smith LaCien LLP in December 2021 after practicing as a solo attorney for eight years. He has litigated matters at the trial and appellate levels involving complex computer issues, medical malpractice, healthcare, antitrust, commercial disputes, and trusts and estates.
The firm represents individuals and families in disputes involving corporations, insurance companies, hospitals, and government agencies. According to the firm, its attorneys have secured more than $3 billion in settlements and verdicts, including more than 100 settlements and verdicts exceeding $1 million.
During his legal career, Jason obtained summary judgment in federal court against a national title insurance company and secured settlements on behalf of 17 governmental entities under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Before joining Smith LaCien LLP, he practiced at two Chicago law firms and founded J.R. Williams Law LLC.
Before becoming a Chicago accident lawyer, Jason served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division from 1993 to 1997. He was deployed overseas several times while stationed at Fort Bragg and received an Army Achievement Medal and a Parachutist Badge.
Jason earned a B.A. in International Studies in 1999 before receiving his law degree. He interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, including the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois and the Antitrust Division’s Chicago Field Office. He also served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Rosemond.
