For more than 20 years, Jason R. Reese has represented victims of personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death.
Growing up in Northwest Indiana, Jason attended the University of Arizona on academic scholarship, then graduated at the top of his class, magna cum laude. Jason returned to Indiana to obtain his law degree with honors from Indiana University School of Law–Bloomington in 1997.After honing his trial skills with a prominent law firm, Jason and his partner Steve Wagner formed Wagner Reese, LLP in 2000. Over the past two decades, the firm has established a track record of unparalleled success and a reputation as the preeminent personal injury firm in Indiana.
Jason has successfully tried dozens of cases to juries and judges in various counties throughout the state, serving hundreds of Hoosier families seeking justice.
Jason is member of the American Association for Justice and an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association for the past 15 years. Jason served as a Barrister on the American Sagamore Inn of Court and the Executive Committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association Litigation Section.
Jason is involved in several pro bono and community activities in the Indianapolis area. He is the Past President of the Board of Directors for Centerpoint Counseling, a not-for-profit organization that provides free counseling services to family and children in Marion County. He is a member of the Grace Church Legal Ministry team and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic. The Clinic is a faith-based, non-profit organization that provides critically-needed legal services to over 14,000 low-income Hoosier families per year. For the past three years, Jason has served on the Board of Directors for Edge Mentoring, a dynamic mentoring organization devoted to building the next generation of godly business leaders in our communities.
Jason has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one the best lawyers in Indiana. His recognition began in 2003 when the Indiana State Bar Association named him “Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year”. In 2005, Jason was named “Forty Under Forty” by the Indianapolis Business Journal as one the most dynamic business and community leaders in the Indianapolis metro area. From 2004-2018, Jason has been repeatedly named an Indiana Super Lawyer and recognized by attorneys throughout the State as a lawyer in the top 5% of his practice areas as published in Indianapolis Monthly and Super Lawyer magazines. More recently, Jason was named a Fellow by the Indiana Bar Foundation, and in 2013, named “Top 100 Trial Lawyers” by The National Trial Lawyers. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and rated a superb “10.0” rating as a Medical Malpractice Attorney by AVVO. From 2016 to 2018, Jason’s peers voted him a Top 50 Super Lawyer for the State of Indiana.
Jason handles high-stakes personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice cases. He has obtained numerous verdicts or settlements in excess of $1,000,000 for his clients. These include several settlements in which the defendant required a confidentiality agreement, a settlement of $6,620,000 on behalf of an injured construction worker, $18,000,000 in an explosion case, and dozens of maximum seven figure recoveries for patients in medical malpractice claims. For instance, Jason recently obtained a $1.1 million jury verdict in Richmond, Indiana on behalf of a mother that lost her baby due to malpractice. The defense never made any settlement offers, but ended up paying the full verdict, plus significant pre-judgment interest.
Jason has handled high-profile cases throughout the States of Indiana and Illinois, and has been interviewed by affiliate stations for NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX networks.
